NUNDWE’S SEVEN-MONTH CHAWAMA RUN ENDS IN SHOCK DEFEAT

Bright Nundwe’s brief reign as Chawama Member of Parliament has come to an abrupt end.
Nundwe, who won the Chawama parliamentary by-election in January 2026 on the FDD ticket with 8,085 votes, has failed to retain the seat after contesting the recently held General elections on the RESOLUTE Party ticket.
This time, Nundwe’s support dropped to 5,596 votes, leaving him in third position.
UPND’s Abel Ng’andu surged to victory with 16,993 votes, narrowly beating the NRPUP candidate, who polled 16,311 votes.
The Electoral Commission of Zambia declared Eng Abel Ng’andu the new Chawama Member of Parliament.
