AMERICA JUST HIT CANADA WITH 50 PERCENT TARIFFS AND THE TRADE WAR IS COMING HOME

United States has imposed 50 percent tariffs on approximately $20 billion worth of Canadian goods after negotiations failed.
Canada. Not China. Not Iran. Not a strategic adversary.
Canada. America’s largest trading partner. The country that shares the world’s longest undefended border with the United States. The country that has fought alongside America in every major conflict since World War One.

Trump has now picked trade fights with Canada, Mexico, the EU, China, Spain, and anyone else who does not comply with Washington’s demands quickly enough. The America First policy is revealing itself as America Alone.
Canada will retaliate. It always does. Canadian retaliatory tariffs will hit American farmers, manufacturers, and consumers directly. The people who will pay for this trade war are not politicians in Ottawa or Washington. They are ordinary people on both sides of the border paying more for goods that used to cross freely.
The global trading system that America built after World War Two and dominated for eight decades is being dismantled by American policy. Ally by ally. Agreement by agreement. Tariff by tariff.
