Central province MPs all from the ruling party
THE United Party for National Development (UPND) has secured all 21 parliamentary seats in Central Province following the 2026 General Election.
Among the newly elected MPs is Nkulukusa Mwabashike for Katuba Constituency, while Emmanuel Chiminsa will represent Keembe East and Princess Kasune, Keembe West.
Martin Chowa was elected MP for Chisamba, while Chushi Kasanda now represents Mwomboshi Constituency.
In Kapiri Mposhi, Stanley Kakubo takes over Kapiri Mposhi West, with Davison Matutu taking the Kapiri Mposhi East Constituency seat.
Christopher Chibuye has been elected for Luano, Sydney Chisanga for Mkushi South, and Clarence Chisuku for Mumbwa Central.
Ferdinand Shikabwali represents Mwembezhi East, while Austin Milambo is the Mwembezhi West MP.
The UPND will also be represented by Emmanuel Banda in Nkundalila, Friday Katombi in Serenje, and Percy Chato in Bwacha North.
Chrizoster Phiri returned her seat as Kabwe Central MP while Sydney Mushanga is at the helm of Bwacha South Constituency.
Other UPND MPs elected in the province are Stellah Chilonda for Mumbwa West, Lewis Chitaila for Lufubu, Andrew Mpyakula for Lukusashi and Collins Nzovu for Nangoma.
The outcome gives the UPND a strong parliamentary presence in Central Province and places all 21 constituencies under the representation of the ruling party.
With the entire provincial parliamentary delegation coming from one party, attention will now turn to how the MPs will work together to address the development needs of their constituencies and push for the province’s interests in Parliament.
