12+ Non-NATO Countries Condemn Reported Israeli Strike on Syrian Military Base

A growing diplomatic backlash is emerging following Israel’s reported strike on the Abu al-Duhur (Abu Zuhur) military airbase in northwestern Syria.

More than a dozen countries outside NATO have reportedly condemned the Israeli action, highlighting growing regional concerns over Israel’s military operations inside Syria.

The development comes as Türkiye continues expanding its military presence and defense relationships across parts of the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans.

However, an important distinction remains: Türkiye is a NATO member, but its military operations conducted outside NATO’s collective framework are not automatically NATO operations.

Ankara can therefore pursue its own bilateral deployments, defense agreements and military activities while remaining a member of the alliance.

The latest diplomatic dispute over Syria could further complicate relations between Türkiye and Israel, particularly as both countries seek to protect their strategic interests and influence in the region.

The question now is whether the growing disagreement over Syria will remain diplomatic or contribute to a broader shift in the regional military balance.

The reported joint statement and the precise list of countries involved should be independently verified.
