MAN DIVORCES WIFE OVER WITCHDOCTOR VISITS
A 65‑year‑old man of Kasongo village in Chief Kalasalukangaba has divorced his wife for seeking help from witchdoctors.
Amos Kabwe told the Mansa Local Court that his wife, Beatrice Chiwele, 56, left their matrimonial home to consult witchdoctors after claiming she was haunted by his late wife.
He said despite warning her to stop, she continued the visits, prompting him to file for divorce.
Chiwele, however, accused Kabwe of engaging in extramarital affairs and neglecting her, saying she even nursed him when he was ill but never benefited from his retirement package.
Senior Local Magistrate Joshua Chama granted the divorce effective August 18, 2026, ordering Kabwe to pay K250 spousal maintenance for three years.
