Hichilema more disciplined than Edgar Lungu, Mundubile — Wynter Kabimba

ECONOMIC Front leader Wynter Kabimba says one thing he likes and admires about President Hakainde Hichilema is his discipline.

Speaking on Prime Television’s Post Election Analysis programme with Paul Shingongo, Kabimba questioned why people would want to “destroy a country” simply because they dislike one individual.

Kabimba said President Hichilema is personally disciplined and does not demand from others what he does not practise himself.

“One of the characteristics about HH which I really like and admire is discipline. He is disciplined himself, personally. Before he demands discipline from others, he is disciplined himself. He is like me. I don’t demand discipline from others which I don’t exercise myself,” Kabimba said.

He further argued that there was no comparison between President Hichilema and former President Edgar Lungu, as well as between Hichilema and NRPUP presidential candidate Brian Mundubile, in terms of discipline.

“In terms of discipline, HH and ECL are incomparable. HH and Mundubile are incomparable,” he said.

Kabimba also questioned why Zambians would support individuals they believe lack the capacity to govern simply because they want to remove President Hichilema from office.

“So, why do we want to destroy a country just because we don’t like one person? Because you don’t like HH, you want to get rid of HH, you can entertain the idea to support somebody else? Even when you know they don’t have the capacity to run this country,” Kabimba said.

  1. Yes, HH’s personal discipline is one of his strengths. This discipline extends to his family. His wife and children have kept a respectable distance from the political fray. A truly commendable stand.

However, Mr. Kabimba cannot claim to have the same discipline as HH. If I recall correctly, Mr. Kabimba contributed to the PF cadre culture. In a sense, he was the architect of the indiscipline we saw in the PF when he was the SG of PF.

If my memory serves me right, he was once summoned by the ACC over an oil contract with a company called Trafigar or something like that. He went to the ACC with a horde of unruly PF cadres who he insisted were exercising their freedom of association and assembly. The thugs ended up damaging the gate to the ACC premises.

Mr. Kabimba is not as disciplined as he is making out.
