Zelensky Warns Russia Could Mobilize 300,000 More Troops
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has claimed that Russia is preparing to mobilize an additional 300,000 troops shortly after its upcoming parliamentary elections in mid-September.
Speaking during a press briefing, Zelensky said the reported mobilization could target Russia’s far-flung and peripheral regions, rather than major population centers, in an apparent effort to limit public backlash.
The Ukrainian president did not provide publicly available evidence to substantiate the claim, and the reported plan has not been independently confirmed by Moscow.
If carried out, such a mobilization would represent a significant expansion of Russia’s manpower for its ongoing war in Ukraine.
