WE DON’T NEED CHRIS ZUMANI ZIMBA – WE HAVE ENOUGH INTELLIGENT PEOPLE TO TAKE THOSE POSITIONS

I have read what Dr Chris Zumani Zimba, the self-proclaimed founder of Tonse Alliance and NRPUP advisor has written and I am angry as a long serving UPND member. Who does this man think he is? Where was he when we were suffering in opposition for 23 years? Where was he when UPND members were being beaten, arrested, tear gassed for Bally? Now that we have won, he wants to come and share our victory.

This man is proposing a so-called Unity Government Framework where NRPUP Tonse Alliance must be given 4 cabinet positions, 4 diplomatic positions, 4 Permanent Secretary positions, 4 CEO positions and 30 DC positions. What nonsense is this? Is this national unity or job seeking? UPND just beat you clean, we don’t owe you anything. You lost elections, you don’t negotiate for positions after losing. In Zambia you win to govern, you lose to go and prepare. That is democracy.

UPND has enough intelligent, learned, and long serving members to take up all those positions. We have lawyers, teachers, we have doctors, we have professors, we have youths who sacrificed everything for this party. Some of us have been in UPND for more than 15, 20 years, sleeping in cells, being called tribalists, being denied jobs by PF. Now that God has given us victory again, you want us to give those positions to Tonse people who were insulting HH every day? Never!

Zumani Zimba is the same man who was Political Advisor to Edgar Lungu from 2019 to 2025. He is the architect of PF arrogance. Now he has jumped to NRPUP and Tonse and he wants to advise UPND? We know these tricks. This is how PF wants to come back through the back door using unity government. President Hichilema must not listen to this man. Zambians voted for UPND, not for unity government. Zambians voted for Bally, not for Mundubile and Makebi.

His 12 conditions are an insult to UPND members. He wants amnesty for more than 60 NRPUP members, he wants charges dropped for Mundubile and Makebi, he wants UPND not to petition NRPUP seats. Who does he think he is to give conditions to a ruling party that just won ? UPND is not desperate. We won clean. We don’t need reconciliation that is blackmail.

President HH, listen to your long serving members, not to these political prostitutes who jump from Lungu to Mundubile and now want to jump to you. We have enough power, we have enough brains, we have enough loyal people. We don’t need Zumani Zimba and his Tonse NRPUP failed project. Let them go and petition if they want, let them face the law, but don’t give them our hard won positions.
