IRAN DISCOVERS 7.5 TRILLION CUBIC FEET OF NATURAL GAS AMID WAR AND ECONOMIC PRESSURE

Iran has announced the discovery of more than 200 billion cubic metres…about 7.5 trillion cubic feet of natural gas in southern Fars province.

Iranian Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad says more than 160 billion cubic metres could be recoverable, with the field potentially producing around 280 million cubic metres of gas per day for 15 years.

The announcement comes as Iran faces a major regional war, damage to energy infrastructure and severe economic pressure.

Despite the disruption, Iran says it has uncovered a major new energy resource that could strengthen its domestic gas supply and potentially reshape its energy position in the region.

The discovery raises a bigger question: Can Iran turn its vast underground energy reserves into economic strength despite war, sanctions and pressure on its energy infrastructure ?
