MUHOOZI: BESIGYE SHOULD SEEK FORGIVENESS FROM SALEH
Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has said former presidential candidate Dr Kizza Besigye should turn to Gen Salim Saleh if he wants forgiveness, claiming that President Yoweri Museveni has given Saleh the authority to handle the matter.
In a post on X, Muhoozi wrote:
«“Dr. Kizza Besigye will be handled by Afande Saleh. If he wants forgiveness he should talk to Afande Saleh. Mzee has given Afande SS those powers.”»
Muhoozi did not explain what he meant by Besigye being “handled” by Saleh, nor did he clarify what specific powers or conditions were involved.
The remarks have attracted attention because Besigye has been one of Museveni’s most prominent political opponents for decades, repeatedly challenging the government through presidential elections and opposition politics.
Muhoozi’s statement now raises questions about whether Gen Salim Saleh could play a role in a possible reconciliation between Besigye and the government.
