Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia Pursue Closer Military Alliance as Erdoğan Calls for United Front Against Israel
Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia are reportedly seeking to strengthen military cooperation and move toward a collective defense alliance, under which an attack on one member could be treated as an attack against all.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has argued that the only way to counter what he described as Israel’s “arrogance, terrorism and banditry” is through the formation of strong regional alliances and collective action.
Erdoğan said countries facing common threats must unite and build stronger military and strategic partnerships to deter aggression.
Referring to Turkey’s previous military interventions, Erdoğan declared that Ankara had demonstrated its willingness to act decisively when it considered its national interests or allies to be under threat.
“Just as we entered Karabakh, just as we entered Libya, perhaps we will enter them in the same way,” Erdoğan said.
The remarks signal an increasingly confrontational tone from Ankara amid rising tensions between Turkey and Israel.
A formal collective-defense arrangement involving Turkey, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia would represent a significant shift in the regional security landscape, potentially creating a powerful military bloc capable of coordinating its response to threats against any member state.
