WHY DID BINWELL MPUNDU RUN AWAY IF HIS ‘KILL’ STATEMENT WAS INNOCENT?

WHY DID BINWELL MPUNDU RUN AWAY IF HIS ‘KILL’ STATEMENT WAS INNOCENT?

It is interesting how some politicians appear to underestimate the intelligence of Zambians.

Today, our focus is on Binwell Mpundu, who has reportedly left Zambia and been in Zimbabwe, allegedly attempting to make his way to Italy to seek refuge.

But the biggest question remains; What exactly is Binwell Mpundu running away from?

We believe even those supporting the Chabaiche grouping or Toonse Pamodzi Alliance may struggle to provide a convincing answer.

The timing is what makes the situation interesting.

Shortly before the General Election, Mpundu made a statement that attracted widespread attention:

“We have put a lot on the chopping board. We are ready to kill or be killed.”

Mpundu later explained that the statement was made in self defence.

Mr. Mpundu wanted to defend himself from who exactly? is it the army, Police or fellow Zambians?

Why didn’t Mr. Mpundu report the persons that wanted to harm him to the Police and engaged the Human Rights Commission?

So, the question is simple, how can a statement that was made in self defence now become a reason to run away from your own country and seek refuge in Italy?

If the statement was innocent and was simply about self defence, why run away from Zambia instead of remaining in the country to explain yourself?

Why not face the authorities with your lawyers, give your explanation and allow the matter to be resolved?

And that is where the dots begin to connect.

The statement.

The timing.

The reported departure.

And the search for refuge.

Zambians are now asking one simple question:

If the statement was innocent and in self defense, why run?

  1. My question is: who is facilitating these exits of politicians running away from Zambia after committing serious offences..?

We have a broken immigration system. This needs to be overhauled. Mwamba escaped, JJ Banda did the same and now Binwell Mpundu has followed suit. Where is our intelligence officers…?
