MTONGA CALLS FOR RESTRAINT OVER MUNDUBILE, MAKEBI MATTER

UPND member George Mtonga has called for restraint among party members and the public in discussing the matter involving National Reconciliation Party for Unity and Prosperity (NRPUP) presidential candidate Brian Mundubile and his running mate, Makebi Zulu.

Mr Mtonga said he had decided to recuse himself from commenting on the matter in the interest of promoting unity and healing in the country.

He said the call was also in line with guidance from church bodies, including the Seventh-day Adventist Church, for humanity to prevail in handling the matter..

Mr Mtonga further appealed to his network at both grassroots and corporate levels to refrain from discussing the issue and allow elders to navigate the matter.

“In the spirit of unity and trying to heal this country, I will recuse myself from discussing Brian and Makebi’s issue,” Mr Mtonga said.

He thanked those who had taken note of his appeal and urged them to exercise restraint as the matter was being handled.
