Russian Forces Claim Capture of Shevchenkivske in Zaporizhzhia
Russia’s Defense Ministry announced Thursday that Russian forces have captured the settlement of Shevchenkivske in Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia region, marking another claimed advance along the front line.
According to the Russian military, Ukrainian forces suffered dozens of casualties in fighting on this axis. Moscow also claimed that Ukraine sustained approximately 1,450 casualties across all operational directions, although these figures have not been independently verified and Ukraine has not confirmed the reported losses.
The capture of Shevchenkivske would represent the latest Russian territorial gain claimed this month, as fighting continues across multiple fronts and both sides seek to improve their positions.
