ISRAELI EXPERT WARNS NETANYAHU NOT TO UNDERESTIMATE TURKEY’S MILITARY POWER
Israeli Turkey affairs expert Dr. Eitan Hai Cohen has warned Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military against underestimating the growing strength of the Turkish Armed Forces.
Cohen said Turkey’s military operates under NATO military doctrine and maintains a high level of training, readiness and combat capability.
«“The Israeli army must not underestimate the Turkish army; its standards are very high,” Cohen said.»
He also warned about Turkey’s expanding presence and influence in Syria, arguing that Ankara could continue to broaden its regional role if the United States does not intervene.
The remarks highlight growing concerns in Israel over Turkey’s rising military and strategic influence, particularly in Syria, where Ankara is increasingly seen as a major strategic challenge.
