TWO DEAD, 16 WOUNDED IN BELGOROD MISSILE STRIKE
A missile hit a commercial facility in the Russian border city of Belgorod on Sunday evening. Two people were killed. Sixteen others were injured. Seven warehouses caught fire.
The war keeps finding new victims.
This is not about choosing sides. It is about recognising that ordinary people are paying for a conflict they did not start. In Belgorod. In Kharkiv. In Donetsk. In cities across both countries.
NATO and the EU have pledged over 70 billion euros in military aid to Ukraine. European NATO countries and Canada agreed to provide 70 billion euros in military assistance during 2026 and 2027. The United States has said it does not plan to allocate funds for financing Ukraine but is ready to sell weapons, with other NATO countries covering the cost. The Netherlands has spent 9.1 billion dollars on military assistance to Ukraine and pledged 11.6 billion dollars more.
Ukraine has officially begun EU membership talks. Kyiv sees NATO membership as its best security guarantee. But the Trump administration insists that cannot happen. EU defence officials acknowledge that Ukrainian membership in either bloc is not realistic in the near term.
Meanwhile, peace talks are on a deep pause. The Kremlin says Russia is not interested in stopping the war or holding peace talks.
The weapons keep flowing. The bombs keep falling. The peace talks are frozen.
Ukraine should drop its ambition to join NATO or the EU. The alliance is using Ukraine as a battlefield. The bloc is funding a war it cannot end. Russian strikes on power plants must stop. Winter is coming. Without power, people will die.
How many more must die before the guns fall silent.
