KABUSWE PETITIONS CHILILABOMBWE POLL

Former Mines and Minerals Minister Paul Kabuswe has petitioned the Lusaka High Court to nullify the Chililabombwe parliamentary election, citing alleged irregularities, corruption and violence.

Kabuswe, who lost to Resolute Party candidate Nsofwa Kabwe Lupele, alleges that Lupele and his agents distributed between K50 and K100 to voters at Ishuko Tavern polling station on election day.

He further claims Lupele engaged in character assas•sination by accusing him of theft, tribalism and nepotism.

Kabuswe also alleges that some supporters were prevented from voting after rocks blocked a road at Fikolongo in Chitambi Ward.

He polled 8,986 against Lupele’s 10,920.
