HICHILEMA HAS GAINED SUPPORT ACROSS ALL TEN PROVINCES DAYS VERNON MWANGA.

Veteran politician Dr. Vernon Mwaanga says the 2026 General Election results have revealed a significant shift in Zambia’s political landscape, with President Hakainde Hichilema recording increased support across all ten provinces.

Dr. Mwaanga says the results demonstrate that many Zambians appreciate what he describes as the achievements of the New Dawn Administration since taking office in 2021, particularly in rebuilding the economy and restoring investor confidence.

He says Zambia is now among Africa’s fastest-growing economies, pointing to improvements in GDP growth, reduced inflation and increased investor confidence as key indicators of economic progress.

Dr. Mwaanga has also highlighted the Constituency Development Fund (CDF), free education, improvements in healthcare, road infrastructure development, increased maize production and the reduction in mealie-meal prices as some of the administration’s notable achievements.

He further cites increased mining output and higher employment levels as signs that the economy is gradually expanding and creating more opportunities for Zambians.

Dr. Mwaanga says President Hichilema and Vice President Mutale Nalumango deserve their re-election and the subsequent inauguration scheduled for Tuesday, September 1, 2026, at Heroes Stadium in Lusaka.

As President Hichilema begins his new mandate, Dr. Mwaanga has urged him to seek God’s guidance in forming his next government.

He says the President should appoint men and women who share his vision for a better Zambia, possess the necessary competence and can bring meaningful value to government decision-making.

Dr. Mwaanga has also called on Zambians to put political differences aside following the elections and unite behind the common goal of national development.

He says the message from the electorate is clear and that the country must now move beyond political contestation, embrace one another and work together to take Zambia to greater heights.

The statement was issued to Zambian Watch News in Lusaka.
