RUSSIA STRIKES UKRAINE–ROMANIA BORDER CROSSING
Russian Shahed drones struck the Orlivka international ferry crossing on Ukraine’s border with Romania overnight.
The attack hit the crossing’s building and surrounding grounds, igniting fires that emergency crews have since contained. Processing of travelers and vehicles has been suspended, and traffic is being redirected through other border checkpoints.
Romanian authorities have been informed. No casualties at the crossing have initially been confirmed.
Orlivka connects Ukraine with Romania across the Danube and forms part of the transport network carrying people and goods toward the European Union. This is not the first time Russia has attacked the facility.
Russia struck Ukrainian territory—but it deliberately disabled international infrastructure immediately beside a NATO member state. Moscow continues moving its war closer to Europe’s borders, one drone attack at a time.
