NORTH KOREA THREATENS U.S. WITH “THE TOUGHEST MEASURES”
North Korea’s Foreign Ministry has said Pyongyang will continue to respond with what it described as the “toughest measures” against the United States’ persistent hostile policy.
The ministry said it does not expect tensions on the Korean Peninsula to ease, accusing Washington of pursuing increasingly dangerous forms of policy toward North Korea.
Pyongyang also insisted that possessing and further strengthening its nuclear weapons is, in its words, the “most responsible choice” for preserving peace and security in the region.
The statement underscores that North Korea is showing no sign of backing away from its nuclear weapons program. Instead, Pyongyang appears to be seeking to use its nuclear capabilities as both a strategic shield and a source of political pressure against the United States and its regional allies.
