Iran Reportedly Fired Air-Defence Missile at U.S. F-35 Over Strait of Hormuz

Iran reportedly fired an anti-aircraft missile at a U.S. F-35 stealth fighter jet in recent days while the aircraft was providing cover for ships operating in the Strait of Hormuz, according to Axios.

The incident comes as Iran reportedly moves quickly to rebuild and strengthen its military capabilities following damage caused by previous U.S. and Israeli strikes.

Iran’s experience during the recent conflict could also make future U.S. military operations around Iranian territory increasingly difficult, potentially posing greater risks to American aircraft and naval forces operating in the region.

The reported missile launch underscores the continuing threat to military operations in and around the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important waterways.
