EU CONGRATULATES HH, NAILS ROBUST PARTNERSHIP
THE European Union has congratulated President Hakainde Hichilema on his re-election, describing the partnership between Zambia and the bloc as robust.
In a congratulatory letter to addresses to President Hichilema, European Commission President Ursula Von Der Leyen said the partnership is built on a shared commitment to effective multilateralism and a rules-based international order.
She said the European Union highly values its collaboration with Zambia on regional and global issues.
Ms.Von Der Leyen said the alignment of priorities and interests between Zambia and the European Union presents significant opportunities for increased mutually beneficial investment and sustainable economic transformation.
She said the EU is supporting these efforts through its Global Gateway strategy, with the aim of driving long-term prosperity for the people of Zambia and the region.
