PITSO MOSIMANE RESPONDS TO HUGO BROOS’ AGENT AND CLUB OWNER CLAIMS, PRAISES FORMER BAFANA COACH FOR BUILDING A STRONG FOUNDATION
New Bafana Bafana head coach Pitso Mosimane has responded to comments made by his predecessor, Hugo Broos, regarding alleged attempts by player agents and club owners to influence national team selections.
Broos recently warned that South African football could lose the progress made under his tenure and claimed that, during his time in charge, certain individuals had attempted to interfere in team selection matters. He said he dealt firmly with such situations and ensured that outside influences did not affect his decisions.
However, Mosimane chose not to be drawn into a public dispute. Speaking during his official unveiling as Bafana Bafana coach, he made it clear that his focus is on coaching the national team rather than debating past comments.
The experienced coach said his priority is preparing the team for upcoming challenges and continuing the progress already made. Rather than criticising Broos, Mosimane praised the Belgian tactician for the work he accomplished during his time in charge of the national side.
Mosimane acknowledged that Broos helped rebuild Bafana Bafana’s confidence and competitiveness, laying a solid platform for future success. He said the former coach deserves recognition for helping the national team regain respect on the continent and establishing a strong foundation for the next chapter
The former Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly and Al Ahli Saudi coach now begins his second spell in charge of Bafana Bafana, with supporters hoping he can build on the team’s recent achievements and guide South Africa to even greater success.
Instead of focusing on controversy, Pitso Mosimane says his attention is firmly on the future of Bafana Bafana and continuing the progress made by those who came before him.
