LET’S DISCUSS: WHO COMES AFTER PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema? 🇿🇲
President Hakainde Hichilema has now entered his second and constitutionally final term.
Which brings me to a question for UPND members and supporters:
Who is being prepared to take the baton when HH eventually leaves State House?
Surely, among the millions of UPND members across the country, it cannot be that only President Hichilema possesses the leadership qualities necessary to move Zambia forward?
Before HH, there was the late Anderson Mazoka who founded the party. There were also people who believed in the vision, built structures, organised communities and kept the party alive through difficult years.
So where are the next generation of leaders?
Who among the current UPND leadership has the vision, competence, integrity, national appeal and political maturity to step forward?
🤔 Is it someone already sitting in Cabinet?
🤔 Someone in Parliament?
🤔 Someone working quietly within the party structures?
🤔 Or perhaps someone we haven’t even started paying attention to?
And here’s the bigger question:
Is UPND preparing a successor, or are they going to wait until 2031 and start searching for one?
A serious political party such as UPND shouldn’t depend on only one individual because that is political suicide, the PF made the mistake of heavily relying on the late president Edgar Chagwa Lungu and look at what that got them? It reached a sad point of Miles Sampa even staging a mutiny to grab party leadership thus bringing the Robert Muchintha Chabinga and Morgan Ngona saga. A strong political party should avoid going down that route and should continuously produce leaders capable of taking the country forward.
Personally, I think Zambia would benefit from seeing a genuine succession conversation within UPND; not a campaign for 2031, but an honest discussion about leadership development.
So, UPND supporters, let’s hear it:

And more importantly, WHY?
Don’t just give me a name. Tell me what qualities, experience and record make you believe that person is ready.

HH will perform such a wondrous economic miracle that the entire nation shall offer him another five years.Its only by 2036 when Zambia shall need a paradigm shift to an AI dependent socio-economy,a phenomena he will not be proficient in.
Now,let’s go
Ba MuZambian, even if HH performs a million miracles he cannot go beyond 2031. If he does, it would be the most foolish thing he would ever do in his life – going for a third term by manipulating the constitution.
The constitution is very clear, maximum two terms and exit. No looking back or you turn into a pillar of salt.
Zambia is not short of very capable people who can do equally well or even better than Mr. Huchilema.
Your kind of talk is off limits.
Ba JMC.Not that I deny you your own limits.But in this world there are people with extraordinary abilities or exceptional circumstances that place such leaders in good stead to rule beyond their term limits with the consent of all the organs of power vested in a constitution
Research Roosevelt, Churchill,Castro and many others.I consider HH as one of such leaders.He will not disappoint in 2026+ only protect him from people like Mundubile and Sishuwa Sishuwa
Let’s see, there was a time when I used to think that I was a good judge of political talent. I’m not sure of my own thinking anymore.
God will give us someone to takeover. It happened in 2006, when Mazoka died, HH was not even known that time, but God brought him forward and gave us just as he gave David to the children of Israel.

For the 23 years ,plus of our existence, as a party has been anchored on ,Stricktly total displine,
This has been, the bonding glue,of,our longevity
So,you will not, succeed, into tempting us, to divert our goals & vision,of moving Zambia Foward ,
So,amongst,many of our Leaders,GOD,our provider,,will raise, and provide, Us,with,another, Vissionary LEADER, HH alike,from His treasure store ,to lead ,Zambia, for another 10 years ,after 2031,
