Explosion Reported at Sochi Port After Suspected Naval Drone Attack
Footage shows a large explosion and thick smoke rising from the port area in Sochi, Russia, on September 3.
Ukraine’s Navy said an unmanned surface vessel struck the Russian-flagged support vessel NEFRIT while it was docked at the port.
The vessel is involved in maritime and energy-support operations, including servicing offshore facilities and transporting personnel and cargo.
Independent reports confirmed explosions and smoke over the port area, while the full extent of the damage remains under assessment.
The incident comes amid a broader increase in Ukrainian drone and naval-drone attacks against Russian infrastructure along the Black Sea coast.
