Iran Defies Trump Over Pickaxe Mountain Threat: “We’re Waiting”
Iran has issued a defiant response after U.S. President Donald Trump warned that the United States could strike Pickaxe Mountain “very soon” a heavily fortified underground site near Iran’s Natanz nuclear complex.
Iranian officials and state-linked media have signaled that Tehran is prepared for any further U.S. military action, warning that an attack on sensitive Iranian facilities could trigger a much wider escalation across the Middle East.
Trump has repeatedly identified Pickaxe Mountain as a potential target, saying Washington is closely monitoring activity at the site. On September 4, Reuters reported that Trump again raised the possibility of launching a strike against the facility.
The underground complex is regarded as one of Iran’s most difficult potential targets, with deep tunnels and heavily hardened infrastructure designed to withstand military attacks.
For now, no U.S. strike on Pickaxe Mountain has been confirmed, and there is also no confirmed Iranian military operation specifically launched in response to Trump’s latest warning.
But the increasingly direct exchange of threats between Washington and Tehran has opened another potentially dangerous flashpoint in the escalating U.S.-Iran confrontation.
