🇶🇦🇺🇸 QATAR: U.S. ALLIANCE ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH TO GUARANTEE SECURITY
Qatar has acknowledged that its strategic alliance with the United States may not be sufficient to guarantee the country’s security, arguing that Gulf states must develop greater self-reliance in defense.
“Having a strategic alliance with the United States is a good thing, but it is not enough. Self-reliance in security is the only way forward,” a Qatari Foreign Ministry spokesperson said.
The remarks came after Qatar was targeted by several strikes reportedly originating from Iran during the ongoing war, underscoring growing concerns among Gulf states about relying solely on external security guarantees.
