COURT ORDERS WOMAN ACCUSED OF THROWING CO-WIFE’S CHILDREN IN RIVER TO UNDERGO MENTAL EVALUATION
The Lusaka High Court has ordered 27-year-old Mary Kashilika, accused of throwing her co-wife’s two children into Ngwerere Stream, to undergo a mental assessment at Chainama Hills Hospital.
Judge Chipola Bako granted the defence application to establish Kashilika’s mental state at the time of the alleged offence and determine whether she is fit to take plea and follow court proceedings.
Kashilika is charged with two counts of murder involving six-year-old Mathias Kamanga and two-year-old Tifiness Kamanga.
Mathias’ body was retrieved and buried, while his two-year-old sister, Tifiness, is yet to be found.
