LEGAL COUNSEL DENIED: Sakwiba Sikota, Chifumu Banda & Kasonde Mwende Turned Away From Seeing Brian Mundubile & Makebi Zulu

WHY block lawyers?? Incarcerated Opposition President Brian Mundubile and vice President Makebi Zulu’s Lawyers:
State Counsel Sakwiba Sikota and State Counsel Chifumu Kingdom Banda together with EFF President Kasonde Mwenda C have been prevented from seeing any of the 18 Tonse Pamodzi Alliance leadership and members at Mukobeko Maximum Prison.
It is unlawful and an affront on their Constitutional rights to prevent detainees from seeing their lawyers but unfortunately that’s the path the UPND Government has taken. The two State Counsel have been blocked and sent back twice with Zero access to their clients to date. That is wrong.
Mr. Hakainde Hichilema was always allowed to meet his lawyers when he was in opposition but what has changed now? We are going backwards and the world is watching and laughing at us as we destroy the democracy our forefathers fought so hard for. That is not the Zambia we want.
May God help us. We appeal to you Mr. Hakainde Hichilema to let our colleagues have access to unimpeded legal access in the interest of Justice.
Wherever we want to go our feet will take us there.

Mr. Kasonde Mwenda is one of the politicians who have contributed immensely to the toxic political environment in our country.
He believes that being confrontational and coming up with outrageous claims is good politics. Maybe he needs to do so to maintain his political relevance. By himself, he would fade into nothingness so he has to shout loudest in whatever group is unfortunate enough to accommodate him.
