IRGC CLAIMS BALLISTIC MISSILE STRIKES ON TWO US DESTROYERS

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has reported carrying out ballistic missile attacks on two US Navy destroyers in the Gulf.

The IRGC’s Aerospace Force targeted the USS Delbert D. Black and USS John Paul Jones, identified as DDG-119 and DDG-53.

According to the IRGC statement, the strikes inflicted significant damage on both vessels.

The attacks were described as a response to what Tehran called US aggressive actions and malicious harassment of Iranian tankers and ships.

The US has not confirmed the claims. There has been no independent verification of the strikes or the extent of any damage.

The IRGC warned the enemy against any miscalculation and reiterated its determination to respond to what it called the desperate actions of the US.

The reported attack comes amid a cycle of strikes and retaliation in the strategic waterway.

How long before one side’s claim becomes the other side’s reality.
