ANSARULLAH CLAIMS MAJOR OFFENSIVE AGAINST SAUDI-BACKED FORCES IN YEMEN
Ansarullah (the Houthis) claims it launched a large-scale offensive on September 3 against Saudi-backed forces along Yemen’s western coast.
The group says the operation, dubbed “Allah Is Greater in Power and More Severe in Punishment,” resulted in the capture of six districts between Taiz and Hudaydah, covering roughly 5,400 square kilometers.
According to Ansarullah, its forces targeted seven opposing military divisions comprising 38 brigades, killing, wounding or capturing hundreds of fighters. The group also claims that several of its own prisoners were freed during the offensive.
Ansarullah further claims it intercepted 32 Saudi fighter aircraft and shot down nine drones, despite what it described as extensive Saudi air support for the opposing forces.
The group says maritime navigation remains safe for international shipping, with the exception of Saudi-flagged or Saudi-linked vessels.
Ansarullah has vowed to continue its strategy of “siege for siege” and attacks against Saudi military concentrations until Saudi operations against Yemen end and the blockade of Yemen is lifted.
