Chinese satellite imagery allegedly played a role in Iranian strike on U.S. base

The Wall Street Journal reports that Chinese entities allegedly provided Iran with high-resolution satellite imagery ahead of the July 17 Iranian strike on the U.S. military base at Muwaffaq Salti in Jordan.

Three U.S. service members were killed and four others wounded in the attack.

U.S. officials reportedly suspect the imagery may have helped Tehran better identify and locate the facilities it targeted.

However, the exact role of the Chinese suppliers remains unclear, and there is no established evidence of direct Chinese government involvement in the attack.

Beijing has denied the allegations.
