ZAMBIA POLICE STATEMENT: TIKTOK CONTENT CREATOR APPREHENDED OVER HATE SPEECH, INCITEMENT AND THREATS

September 13, 2026- The Zambia Police Service has apprehended a 44-year-old content creator identified as Misheck Mulubwa who operates a TikTok account under the username “BROTHERMAN” (Kabongokitungu)



The suspect was apprehended  in connection with videos circulating on social media in which he is alleged to have used insulting language, hate speech, tribal remarks, and incitement to violence against the Government



He is further alleged to have made threats to assassinate high-profile Government officials including the President of the Republic of Zambia, the Zambia Army Commander, and the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission of Zambia.



The alleged offences are said to have occurred between June 2026 and 12th September, 2026.

Following investigations by a joint team of security wings including Zambia Police Service, Zambia Cyber Security Agency, and the Department of Immigration among others, Mulubwa was apprehended at Kasumbalesa Border Post, Chililabombwe District, Copperbelt Province



He is currently in lawful custody pending further investigations.

One Infinix mobile cellular phone suspected to have been used to access the said TikTok account was recovered and seized pursuant to Section 121 of the Criminal Procedure Code, Chapter 88 of the Laws of Zambia
