Michelo Chizombe is among those nominated to serve as Member of Parliament under the new system.
Chizombe, is a Lusaka businessman and political activist who filed the petition in October 2023, naming Edgar Lungu, the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ), and the Attorney General as respondents.
The Constitutional Court of Zambia ruled on December 10, 2024, that former President Edgar Lungu is ineligible to contest the 2026 presidential election or any future elections.
