Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy has revealed why he leaves Kenya after every national team camp.
The South African coach says he and his foreign technical staff face a major administrative problem.
According to McCarthy, the coaching team has worked in Kenya for around 18 months without receiving work permits.
As a result, he says he cannot remain in the country after completing his national team duties.

McCarthy says he travels to Kenya for each camp before leaving once the team’s work ends.
The former Manchester United coach insists the situation has created serious concerns for his coaching staff.
He also claims the foreign technical team has not received money that was promised to them.
McCarthy explained his position while discussing the difficulties surrounding his time with Harambee Stars.
“We can’t work as illegal immigrants. I come, do my job, then leave when the camp is finished.”
He continued by highlighting the financial concerns affecting his situation.
“Not receiving any cent of what was promised… you will be like, is it worth it?”

The coach also questioned whether the ongoing problems are appropriate for Kenya’s national team.
“Is it okay for the national team?”
McCarthy’s comments have now placed fresh attention on the conditions surrounding his tenure.
The coach arrived with expectations of helping Kenya strengthen its international performances.
However, administrative and financial issues appear to have complicated his work.
Meanwhile, his comments raise questions about how foreign coaching staff are being supported.
For McCarthy, leaving Kenya after every camp has become necessary under the current circumstances.

For now, McCarthy says he will continue travelling in and out of Kenya around each camp.
