DAVIDO’S SISTER SHARON ADELEKE REVEALS HOW ‘NEPO BABIES’ MANAGE THEIR WEALTH
Sharon Adeleke, sister of Nigerian music star Davido and daughter of billionaire businessman Deji Adeleke, has challenged perceptions about the financial privileges enjoyed by children born into wealthy families.
Speaking on a recent episode of The Moraya Show, Sharon said so-called “Nepo babies” often have access to valuable assets and opportunities but may not have unrestricted access to their parents’ cash as many people assume.
According to her, children of millionaires and billionaires generally receive more financial support than the average person, including education, land and property, but are still expected to make use of those assets to build their own wealth.
“A lot of Nepo babies don’t really have access to cash the way you guys make it seem. They have more than the average person, but they are always on a budget. Your school fees are paid, you are given land and properties, but you have to make use of them,” she explained.
Sharon also disclosed that she holds regular financial meetings with Davido to monitor his spending and ensure he remains aware of how his money is being used.
“Me and I would sit and have a finance meeting every week because I think it is important for him to know how his money is being spent,” she said.
She added that she had advised the singer to reduce his spending on luxury vehicles, particularly his continued acquisition of expensive cars.
Her comments come after Davido recently revealed during a livestream with streamer Davrel that he had paid $11 million for a custom-made Bugatti, which he said was expected to be delivered to Nigeria.
The disclosure has once again drawn attention to the singer’s well-known passion for luxury cars and high-value purchases.- Scoop
