THIRD-TERM DEBATE IS RETROGRESSIVE, PRESIDENT HH MUST SPEAK OUT – DAVIES MWILA
BM8/ECL National Chairperson Davies Mwila says debates on the third term or removing term limits are retrogressive.
Mr Mwila said anyone that is supporting the third term debate does not mean well for the Zambian people.
Mr Mwila said the President must therefore come out clear to curtail the debate that he is not in interested in the third term.
He said failure to do so will mean that he is backing the debates.
Mr Mwila has since urged the top leadership of the UPND to tame the over excited Media Director Mark Simuuwe who wants to drive a notion that Third is neccessary.
“Simuuwe is an employee of the UPND party. I know he wants to please his masters with the hope of getting contracts from FRA. The Zambian people have all along Rejected the third term.
The President has not announced his cabinet. So why talk about third term,” he said.
Meanwhile, Mr Mwila said the statement by NRPUP leader Ezra Tembo that the party has pulled out from Tonse Alliance has serious political implications.
He said Mr Tembo must clarify because this would mean that the alliance will start looking for a new Special Purpose Vehicle to use for by elections.
And Mr Mwila has questioned why the NRPUP only allegedly fielded six names for proportional representation and not 16.
He has also urged NRPUP Members of Parliament to start visiting incarcerated Leader Brian Mundubile and Makebi zulu and others.
