DAVIES Mwila has urged NRPUP Members of Parliament to dust off their travel plans and make the trip to Mukobeko Maximum Security Prison, saying too many of them have apparently found better things to do than visit their incarcerated party leaders.
Mwila, a former Patriotic Front secretary general, said he was concerned that only a handful of NRPUP MPs had visited treason-charged opposition leaders Brian Mundubile, Makebi Zulu and 16 others being held at Mukobeko in Kabwe.
And, in a warning that sounded less like a casual reminder and more like attendance being taken, Mwila said the Tonse Alliance was keeping an eye on who was visiting the prisoners and, perhaps more importantly, who was not.
In a video posted by Grindstone Television Zambia, Mwila appealed to NRPUP MPs to visit Mundubile and the other opposition figures, reminding them that “loyalty defines a man”.
“I want to praise the supporters of BM, especially those that have been going to Kabwe to see the president, the vice-president and others. I know others have not been there, especially Members of Parliament. But I want to say that we are monitoring who is going there
