I CAN NEVER WORK WITH HICHILEMA, DECLARES GIVEN LUBINDA
Politician Given Lubinda says he can never work with President Hakainde Hichilema, describing him as an “egocentric” leader who could push through laws that may not be in the country’s best interest
Mr. Lubinda says he would rather use his wealth of political experience to strengthen opposition political parties than accept an offer to join the ruling United Party for National Development (UPND).
Speaking during a Prime Television interview, Mr. Lubinda said people who place their trust in President Hichilema are “short-sighted.”
“I can never accept an offer to join the UPND. If I am an experienced politician, I would rather use my wealth of experience to strengthen the opposition. The opposition needs me more than the UPND now,” he said.
Mr. Lubinda further alleged that President Hichilema does not mean well for Zambia and warned that his government could introduce laws that would require strong opposition from political parties and citizens.
“One thing I can tell you with my wealth of experience in politics is that President Hichilema does not mean well for this country. He will introduce bad laws that need us to defend. He is egocentric and he will push dangerous laws,” Mr. Lubinda said.
