Russia Continues Energy Strikes After Trump Announces Ceasefire

Russian attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure continued on October 11, hours after U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an immediate ceasefire targeting energy facilities.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported further Russian strikes, including an attack on a power plant in Kharkiv. Attacks on energy infrastructure in Kyiv also caused disruptions to electricity and water supplies.

Zelenskyy said Ukraine was prepared to halt strikes on Russian energy targets but stressed that Moscow must also comply. The Kremlin had not publicly confirmed its acceptance of the proposed ceasefire.

Trump’s announcement has yet to translate into a clear halt to attacks, leaving the proposed energy truce in doubt as both sides continue to target critical infrastructure.
