Zelenskyy Accuses Russia of Violating Trump’s Energy Ceasefire
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy accused Russia of violating the energy ceasefire announced by U.S. President Donald Trump, after Russian drones struck a gas production facility and a civilian gas station in Ukraine.
Zelenskyy said no Russian oil refineries were hit overnight, while Russian jet-powered Shahed drones continued entering Ukrainian airspace over Kyiv and other cities. He said Ukrainian air defenses intercepted many of the incoming drones, preventing further damage to energy infrastructure.
The Ukrainian leader urged Washington to clarify the terms of the proposed truce and take concrete steps to ensure Moscow complies. He stressed that Ukraine was prepared to halt attacks on Russian energy infrastructure if Russia did the same.
The Kremlin has said contacts over a possible energy ceasefire are ongoing, but the terms and implementation of any agreement remain unclear.
