Israel Warns Iran and Hezbollah Against Interfering in Upcoming Election
Israel’s ambassador to the United Nations, Danny Danon, has warned Iran, Hezbollah and other armed groups against attempting to exploit Israel’s upcoming election period, threatening severe consequences for any attacks or hostile actions.
Speaking at the United Nations on October 15, Danon said Israel had received reports suggesting that Iran and allied groups could seek to take advantage of the election period through missile-related provocations, cyberattacks or disinformation campaigns.
He warned that anyone attempting to threaten or attack Israel would face a forceful response.
Israel’s election is scheduled for October 27, with more than seven million voters expected to cast their ballots.
The warning comes amid heightened regional tensions and concerns over potential security threats during the election period.
