IRAN PARLIAMENT VOTE DISRUPTED BY INTERNET ACCESS ISSUES
Twenty-five Iranian lawmakers were unable to cast their votes for the country’s new Defense Minister during a virtual parliamentary vote because they lacked access to the internet, according to a member of the Iranian Parliament’s presiding board.
“Of the 285 lawmakers, 277 were present at the session, but 25 of them were unable to register their votes because they did not have an internet connection,” Alireza Salimi told Iran’s Fars News Agency.
The incident highlights continuing connectivity challenges in Iran as lawmakers conduct parliamentary proceedings through virtual systems.
