On Saturday morning, Cornyn went public with a blunt demand: Congress must investigate Trump’s aid and comfort to Putin. His post has racked up more than 800,000 views.
And look at the week that pushed him there.
Trump cut a deal to buy Russian diesel from Putin. Then, late Friday night, he froze the sweeping Russia sanctions he had signed into law just last month, the ones built to cut off the money fueling Putin’s war on Ukraine. He’s spent the week blaming Ukraine for a war Russia started and insulting Zelenskyy.
Think about that.
This isn’t coming from Democrats. It’s coming from a Republican senator from Texas, a man who has spent decades in Republican leadership.
And he isn’t asking for a statement or a briefing. He’s calling for a full investigation.
When Trump’s own party starts demanding Congress investigate his ties to Putin, something has gone very, very wrong.
