LIL WAYNE, 44, ENGAGED TO 23-YEAR-OLD GIRLFRIEND MADI CANNON AFTER REKINDLING ROMANCE
American rapper Lil Wayne has confirmed his engagement to his 23-year-old girlfriend, Madi Cannon, just months after publicly announcing that their relationship had ended.
The 44-year-old Grammy Award-winning musician, whose real name is Dwayne Michael Carter Jr., surprised fans when he introduced Cannon as his fiancée in a video shared on social media in late September 2026.
The revelation came while Lil Wayne was congratulating fellow rapper and former Hot Boys group member B.G. on his engagement to girlfriend Brooke Jones.
During the video, Wayne turned the camera towards Cannon and declared that he was planning to marry her, officially introducing her as his future wife.
The announcement attracted considerable attention because of the couple’s 21-year age difference and their previously troubled relationship.
In July, Lil Wayne had dismissed earlier engagement rumours, revealing that he and Cannon had separated. At the time, he described her as an amazing person but explained that he did not want the pressures surrounding his celebrity lifestyle to become a burden to her.
However, the couple appear to have reconciled and taken their relationship to the next level.
Cannon, a social media influencer from Indiana in the United States, has largely maintained a relatively private life despite dating one of hip-hop’s biggest stars.
Lil Wayne, who has four children from previous relationships, was previously married to his childhood sweetheart, Antonia “Toya” Johnson, from 2004 until their divorce in 2006.
The rapper has already started discussing his dream wedding, revealing that legendary R&B singer Anita Baker would be his first choice to perform at the ceremony, with Keith Sweat and Babyface among his alternatives.
Although the engagement has been confirmed, the couple have not publicly announced their wedding date or disclosed details of the proposal.
The news has sparked excitement among fans, with many congratulating the rapper on finding love again.
