BREAKING: SEVERAL FEARED TRAPPED AS MULTI-STOREY BUILDING COLLAPSES IN NAIROBI

Several people are feared trapped beneath the rubble after a multi-storey building under construction collapsed in Eastleigh, Nairobi, Kenya, on Friday afternoon.

The building, located along 9th Street, came crashing down at approximately 1:00 p.m., triggering an emergency rescue operation.

Initial reports described the structure as an 18-storey building, although Nairobi police boss Issa Mohamed indicated it was approximately 10 floors high.

Emergency response teams, including police officers, rushed to the scene to search for possible survivors.

There are fears that construction workers and pedestrians may have been caught in the collapse, as the incident occurred during a busy period in the densely populated neighbourhood.

Authorities have yet to confirm the number of people trapped, injured or killed.

The cause of the collapse remains unknown.

The incident has renewed concerns about building safety and construction standards in Kenya’s capital.

This is a developing story.
