THE WORLD HAS JOINED HANDS TO SUPPORT PINETOWN FATHER SIDNEY HILL AS DONATIONS SURGE TO R343,324 FROM 792 DONORS AFTER HE FOUGHT BACK AGAINST SUSPECTED HIJACKERS WHILE PROTECTING HIS CHILDREN — ONLY R156,676, OR 31.3%, REMAINS TO REACH THE R500,000 TARGET!

An outpouring of support is growing for Sidney Hill, the Pinetown father who made headlines after a violent confrontation with suspected hijackers outside his home in KwaZulu-Natal.

Following the incident, a BackaBuddy fundraising campaign was launched to help cover his legal expenses and provide professional trauma counselling for his children as they recover from the frightening experience.

The latest screenshot of the campaign shows R343,324 raised from 792 unique donors, reaching approximately 68.7% of the R500,000 goal. Just R156,676 remains to reach the target.

The campaign has attracted attention beyond South Africa, with the fundraiser reflecting support from people contributing to help Hill and his children through a difficult period.

The organisers say the final legal costs and how long the children will need counselling remain uncertain. The money raised is intended to ease the financial pressure while the family focuses on healing and recovery.

The response has sparked a wider conversation about violent crime, family safety and the willingness of ordinary people to help a family facing unexpected hardship.

❤️ The world has come together to support Sidney Hill and his children. Will the remaining R156,676 be raised to reach the R500,000 target?
