DEVELOPING | Riot Police Deployed at Lusaka High Court
Heavily armed police officers in full riot gear have been deployed at the Lusaka High Court, where opposition leaders Brian Mundubile, Makebi Zulu and 16 others are expected to appear today.
The deployment comes after the High Court ordered the State on Wednesday to produce the 18 detainees at 10:00 hours for the continuation of their constitutional bail hearing.
The court warned that failure to produce them would require the officer in charge of the prison holding them to appear personally and explain their absence.
The opposition figures have been detained for nearly two months over alleged treason, sedition and terrorism-related charges.
