Marchers By Day, Armed By Night: 4 Arrested With AK-47 In March to March Protest
Four suspects who have been actively involved in the ongoing marches against illegal foreigners were arrested in Muden, South Africa in the early hours of Thursday, 29 October 2026.
National Crime Intelligence officers in KwaZulu-Natal gathered intel that the four were allegedly involved in criminal activities, including cash-in-transit robberies, and were in possession of firearms.
A multidisciplinary operation by the KZN Provincial Task Team followed. Intelligence led police to a residence in Muden where the suspects were found with an AK-47 assault rifle, two handguns and 159 rounds of ammunition.
They were arrested for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
SAPS says the firearms will undergo ballistic testing to establish if they were used in crimes in KZN or elsewhere
The four, aged 19 to 35, will appear in the Greytown Magistrate’s Court today, Friday 30 October 2026.
