🇿🇲 BRIEFING | Lusaka Council Demolishes Illegal Trading Structures
Lusaka City Council, working with the Zambia Police Service, has demolished illegal trading structures commonly known as blue tents near Universal Church, along Independence Avenue and Kafue Road.
The operation forms part of the council’s ongoing crackdown on illegal street trading in the capital.
A check by The People’s Brief around 07:00 hours this morning found traders collecting iron sheets, timber and other materials from the demolished structures.
The demolition comes as the council intensifies efforts to clear unauthorised trading spaces across Lusaka.
